The Hewlett Packard DesignJet 500 series inkjet printers allow for large format colour printing output at close to photo quality. The 500 model is the start model while the 500PS has the added functionality of Postscript and Apple Mac compatibility making it a better choice for graphic design studios.

It prints in four colours, using C4844A No 10 black cartridges, C4911A No 82 cyan, C4912A No 82 magenta and C4913A No 82 yellow cartridges.

The 500's are available in two printing widths: 24 inch or 42 inch with each having a maximum printing length of 150 ft. Colour printing speed is 36 square ft an hour or 21 square ft an hour in high quality mode and the print resolution is 1200 x 600 dots per inch. Fast print mode is also available which prints colour at up to 85 square ft an hour.

The HP DesignJet 500 printers provide value printing for small graphic studios and technical drawing output with a good balance of print quality and speed for both line work and full colour high res images.
